Bulgaria is a country, located in southeastern Europe, in the eastern part of The Balkan Peninsula. It is bordered by Romania to the north, by Serbia and Macedonia to the west, by Greece to the south and by Turkey to the southeast. The eastern Bulgarian coast is washed by the Black sea.

Varna is the 3rd largest city in Bulgaria and the largest one on the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast. It has a population of about 334 000 people. The city is often referred to as “The Marine (or summer) Capital of Bulgaria”. It is also a major tourist destination as well as an important cultural centre.

Located 8 kilometers away from Varna’s downtown, the resort “Saints Constantine and Helena” is the oldest one in Bulgaria. It is surrounded by a marvelous deciduous forest. The climate is characterized as continental Mediterranean, with hot and dry summer. There are 7 mineral springs (with water temperature between 40 and 60 degrees Celsius), which has made the resort an extremely popular spa destination among people, seeking both relaxation and enjoyment. On the territory of the resort is found the beautiful “Saints Constantine and Helena” monastery, restored in the beginning of the 20th century. There are many swimming pools and water attractions, a yacht harbour, tennis courts and football pitches. Nearby the resort there is the so called “Euxinograd palace” - it used to be a royal summer residence for some Bulgarian monarchs who ruled the country after the liberation from Ottoman Dominion ( Alexander I, Ferdinand and Boris III)
